What is Lysela?
Lysela is a Swedish service for wedding websites. You make a page with your times, places and RSVP, and guests reply on their phones with no app and no account.
Why pay for a wedding website?
Because the site is the first thing your guests see of your wedding, and it makes things easier for you: every reply, dietary need and song request ends up in one place instead of in texts and group chats, and guests find the times, places and directions themselves, so you don't answer the same question twenty times. You pay once, and the site shows no ads.
Price and timing
What does a wedding website cost?
A single price, no subscription. Bas is SEK 795, Plus SEK 1,795 and Premium SEK 4,900, all including VAT.
Are there free wedding websites?
Yes, several services have a free tier, often with ads or with the service's name in the address. Lysela has no free tier. You build the whole site in Prova without paying, and pay once when you want to share it.
How long does the site stay up?
12 months from the purchase with Bas and Plus, and 18 months with Premium, with no monthly fee. That covers the save the date, the invitation, the RSVP and the thank-you afterwards.
How quickly is the site ready?
Your sign-in link arrives by email within a few minutes of the purchase. Then you choose a style, fill in names, date, venues, programme and good to know, and share the address when you are happy with it. If you have chosen your own .se address, it can take an hour or so before it works, but you can start editing the site straight away, and in the meantime the address with us works.
Guests and replies
How does the RSVP work on the site?
Guests open your address on their phone, fill in who in the household is coming, allergies or special diets, and send it. It needs neither an app nor an account. You see every answer in one place and can export the list for the kitchen.
How do we see the replies?
You sign in with a link sent to your email, no password. There you see every household’s reply, a separate list of allergies and dietary needs, and what is left to do. You download the list as a file that opens in Excel, and both of you can sign in.
Can we plan the wedding and keep track of the budget?
Yes. When you sign in there is Planning and budget, a list of everything to get done before the day, with suggestions dated from your wedding date. You split the rows between you, note what each thing may cost and what you have paid, and the budget adds up on the overview. It is included in every tier.
Do guests need to create an account or download an app?
No. The site is an ordinary web page that opens in the browser on your phone. One reply per household is enough, and no one needs to log in to answer.
Is the site available in English for guests from abroad?
Plus and Premium include an English version of the site, so guests who do not read Swedish can answer just as easily.
Can we ask guests more than whether they are coming?
Yes. If you add bus departures, each guest can tick which ones they want a seat on when they reply, so you know how many seats to book. In Plus and Premium you can also add your own questions to the RSVP, such as whether they are staying for Sunday brunch, and a menu choice where guests pick a dish and you see how many portions the kitchen needs. The answers are gathered in the list.
The site and its design
How much of the design can we control?
You choose one of several styles, each with its own typefaces and colours, then the film behind the names and how the page moves as a guest scrolls. If you are not sure what to write, there are ready suggestions to start from next to the texts. In Premium you set the colours yourselves and get more typefaces to choose from, for those who already have the colours for their wedding.
What do you mean by film behind the names?
The whole first view of the site is a short looping film, quiet and calm, with your names over it. Each style comes with its own clip, and at every tier you can swap it for another from our library, such as a laid table, rings, a bridal bouquet or cherry blossom, or turn the film off. The clips never show other couples, only the mood.
Can we start with a save the date and switch to an invitation later?
Yes, in every tier. With save the date on, the site shows only the film and a card with your names, the date, the place and a calendar link. In Plus the card can instead wait in a sealed digital envelope the guest opens. Once the invitations go out you switch it off, and guests see the full invitation with venues, programme, good to know and RSVP. The address stays the same throughout.
Address and trust
Can we have our own .se address?
Yes, in Plus and Premium. You choose the address, for example sofiaochdaniel.se, and it connects to the site by itself. The address lasts until three months after the wedding. Until it is connected, and in Bas, the site has an address with us, like sofiaochdaniel.lysela.se.
Is our and our guests' data safe?
Your site, accounts and guest replies are stored in a database in Stockholm, and backups are taken daily. Guest information is used only for your wedding. Allergies and dietary needs are anonymised 6 months after the wedding, and guest replies are deleted at the latest 12 months after. You sign in with a link sent to your email, with no password, and guests never see each other's replies. The site shows no ads and sets no tracking cookies. More is in our privacy policy.
